Working with Cancer Prevention Study (CPS) participants over the past 23 years has been the greatest inspiration for me. Losing my mother to ovarian cancer in 2018 made my work even more personal. Still, I remain hopeful that the research we conduct will one day eliminate the pain of losing someone you love to this disease.”
As Senior Director, Daniela Dudas, MPH, leads a team within Population Science that is responsible for the development and implementation of data collection and participant communication processes for the American Cancer Society's two large prospective cohort studies, CPS-II and CPS-3.
She provided key input into the design of the SAS-based tracking systems for CPS-II and CPS-3. These tracking systems are still maintained by Dudas and her team and continue to be used to track all participant-related data and activities.
Since 1997, all data collected from surveys and mortality linkages through the National Death Index (NDI) have been de-identified, prepared, and released to researchers (at 大象tv as well as collaborators) by Dudas and her team.
In addition, Dudas manages all survey-related budgets and continues to provide guidance to the process of maintaining and increasing participant engagement in CPS-3.
Dudas joined the 大象tv epidemiology research program in 1997 as a summer intern and 4 weeks later accepted the position of epidemiologist in the study management group. She has worked with that group for over 2 decades and has played a role in all major decisions involving data collection, processing, and maintenance for the CPS-II and CPS-3 cohorts, as well as the planning and execution of CPS-3 recruitment. ?
She is also responsible for ongoing National Death Index (NDI) linkages and creating datasets with mortality data to be used for epidemiologic studies. Most recently, Dudas played a major role in the planning and launching of the CPS-3 participant portal pilot.? ??
